When the tap came home

In Kundyachapada, Sutarpada and Ghodichapada, fetching water took three or four hours. Children carried pots. Summer made the source thinner.

With each village we built a well, laid underground pipes to a tank, and set taps near the homes. Solar panels run the pump, so the water does not stop when the grid does, and the village does not inherit an electricity bill.

The digging was done by the village. We brought materials. About 150 families in Kundyachapada alone now have water within a few steps.
