Ayushman Bharat cards
Bridging classrooms and communities
Why it matters
Connecting communities to care.
Many tribal families in Vikramgad qualify for free hospital cover under Ayushman Bharat – PM Jan Arogya Yojana, and have never registered. PMJAY covers up to ₹5 lakh of hospital care per family each year, and ABHA gives each person a digital health ID. Poor connectivity, little awareness and paperwork keep families out.
The Rural Immersion Programme
Our first venture into healthcare, run in February 2026 with students of St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (SFIMAR). The programme gives students hands-on learning in tribal communities and links classroom learning to real healthcare. Students went village to village to help families register, generate Ayushman Bharat cards and ABHA IDs, and explain the scheme.
- Build awareness of PMJAY and ABHA
- Help villagers register
- Give students practical exposure to rural life
- Build empathy, not only a certificate
Five days, thirteen places
Waki, Divepada, Malvada, Kolekar Pada, Choudhari Pada, Gavit Pada, Janathey Pada, Khand, Ondhe, Karpad Pada, Bhartad Pada, Gurav Pada, Dodhade Pada.
107 ABHA IDs were made alongside the 508 Ayushman cards. Students came back with more gratitude and emotional intelligence. The programme helped the community, and it helped them grow.
For the students, it became a lesson in empathy, community engagement and grassroots problem-solving. For the communities of Vikramgadh, it translated into greater awareness and access to healthcare security.
